RST CleanTech installed the RST NightWash™ system, an active cleaning solution (ACS), on two inverters-worth of panels on a 1118.48 kilowatt solar array located in Central Valley, California. RST then compared the production of the inverter with the NightWash™ system against other inverters at the site. This pilot study lasted one and a half months.
Based on these results, retrofitting the entire solar array with RST NightWash™ would result in well over $2.1 million in the pockets of the owner over the array’s remaining 22 year lifespan; this figure includes nearly $2 million in additional energy production, as well as the elimination of four expensive annual cleanings that not only fail to address the region's soiling rates, but also endanger voiding the panels’ warranty.
